Welcome!

Welcome to the Brass Band Hog Blog. Here you will find a variety of posts relating to brass playing, in particular (as the title suggests) brass bands. These include event previews and reviews, CD reviews, my own thoughts and reflections plus interviews with some of the personalities across the movement, and beyond.

The blog is a labour of love and something I do in my spare time. I first started blogging about brass bands in 2019 at a point where I had fallen out of love with a hobby I'd had since I was seven years old. A cross country move, and the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020-21 proved something of a catalyst for more blog content as I, and everyone else, had more time on our hands. I have since reconnected with playing and continue to blog as time allows, or inspiration strikes.
